Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in beverage service or hospitality preferred
- Current Food Handler Card
- Knowledge of liquor laws and responsible alcohol service
- Basic math skills to handle cash transactions
- Good English communication skills
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Capability to lift up to 30 pounds
- Willingness to work flexible shifts including nights and weekends
- Neat and clean appearance in compliance with company standards
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of state, federal, and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages
- Hold a current food handler card
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of alcoholic beverages
- Basic mathematical skills to operate cash register and manage transactions
- Basic English writing skills for requisitions and vouchers
- Sufficient manual dexterity to prepare garnishes and handle glassware and bottles
- Basic English communication skills to understand customer inquiries and give simple instructions
- Ability to comprehend and apply written instructions for safe product use
- Ability to memorize and promote menu items
- Ability to operate beverage equipment such as coffee maker
Job Duties
- Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner and promotes and documents orders for drinks
- Mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control
- Maintains proper and adequate setup of the bar daily including requisitioning and stocking of all beverages and supplies
- Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting and storing fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes and perishables
- Receives cash from guests, makes change, verifies validity of charges, records charges and balances moneys
- Locks up and stores beverages, food and equipment, deposits cash drops and secures bank
- Answers bar phone promptly and courteously takes room service orders, inputs orders in the register and creates checks to maintain accountability
- Performs general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products
- Adheres to company policies, safety, and security procedures
- Reports unsafe conditions, accidents or incidents to supervisor
- Maintains neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance
- Performs related duties as requested by supervisor or manager
- Assists other beverage personnel as needed
