Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • at least two years bartending experience in a luxury or high-end cocktail bar
  • ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs
  • proficiency in English for communication and writing
  • basic cash handling and math skills
  • manual dexterity for garnishing and drink preparation
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • must obtain Responsible Beverage Service certification and California Food Handler Card within 30 days of hire

Job Qualifications

  • Two years of bartending experience in a luxury cocktail bar
  • mixology work experience preferred
  • FORBES training preferred
  • basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service
  • basic mathematical skills for cash handling
  • basic English language writing skills
  • sufficient manual dexterity
  • ability to communicate in English effectively
  • ability to operate point of sale systems
  • ability to lift 40 lbs and stand for 8 hours
  • ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
  • ability to obtain Responsible Beverage Service and California Food Handler Card within 30 days of hire

Job Duties

  • Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar daily
  • requisitions and stocks all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws, stirrers, condiments, and produce based on function projections
  • maintains stock, cuts, and stores fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and perishables daily
  • greets guests courteously and promotes drink orders
  • mixes, garnishes, and presents drinks according to standard recipes and portion control
  • checks guests for proper identification and detects guest inebriation as trained
  • inputs orders into point of sale system and creates checks for accountability
  • receives cash from guests, makes change, verifies charges, records charges, balances all money, and secures cash and equipment after shift
