Job Requirements
- Must have two years bartending experience in a luxury or high-end cocktail bar
- Basic mathematical skills to operate cash register and handle transactions
- Must be able to perform manual tasks including cutting garnishes and mixing drinks
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand or walk for eight hours
- Must obtain Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) and California Food Handler Card within 30 days of hire
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English
Job Qualifications
- Two years of bartending experience in a high-end or luxury cocktail bar
- Mixology experience preferred
- Previous FORBES training preferred
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service
- Basic English language writing skills
- Ability to operate a cash register and point of sale systems
- Ability to read, speak and understand English
- Ability to recall and promote menu items
Job Duties
- Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar daily including requisitioning and stocking of beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws, stirrers, condiments, and produce
- Maintains stock, cutting, and storing of fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and perishables to ensure product quality
- Greets guests courteously and promotes drink orders, mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard recipes with portion control
- Checks guests for proper identification and monitors for inebriation, demonstrating knowledge of liquor laws
- Inputs orders into point of sale register and creates checks to maintain accountability for beverages served
- Receives cash, makes change, verifies charges, records transactions, stores equipment and secures cash bank deposits
