Job Requirements

  • Must have two years bartending experience in a luxury or high-end cocktail bar
  • Basic mathematical skills to operate cash register and handle transactions
  • Must be able to perform manual tasks including cutting garnishes and mixing drinks
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand or walk for eight hours
  • Must obtain Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) and California Food Handler Card within 30 days of hire
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English

Job Qualifications

  • Two years of bartending experience in a high-end or luxury cocktail bar
  • Mixology experience preferred
  • Previous FORBES training preferred
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service
  • Basic English language writing skills
  • Ability to operate a cash register and point of sale systems
  • Ability to read, speak and understand English
  • Ability to recall and promote menu items

Job Duties

  • Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar daily including requisitioning and stocking of beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws, stirrers, condiments, and produce
  • Maintains stock, cutting, and storing of fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and perishables to ensure product quality
  • Greets guests courteously and promotes drink orders, mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard recipes with portion control
  • Checks guests for proper identification and monitors for inebriation, demonstrating knowledge of liquor laws
  • Inputs orders into point of sale register and creates checks to maintain accountability for beverages served
  • Receives cash, makes change, verifies charges, records transactions, stores equipment and secures cash bank deposits
