Job Requirements

  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years bartending experience in a luxury setting
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
  • Must obtain Responsible Beverage Service certification within 30 days
  • Must obtain California Food Handler Card within 30 days
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs
  • Ability to stand or walk for 8 hours
  • Basic mathematical and English writing skills
  • Ability to communicate in English
  • Manual dexterity for bartending tasks

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum two years bartending experience in a high-end or luxury cocktail bar
  • Preferred mixologist experience
  • Preferred FORBES training
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service
  • Basic English language writing skills
  • Ability to operate point of sale systems and cash registers
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English

Job Duties

  • Maintain proper and adequate bar setup daily including requisitioning and stocking of beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws, stirrers, condiments, and produce based on daily function projections
  • Maintain stock, cut, and store all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and perishables daily to ensure quality
  • Greet guests courteously and promote and document drink orders
  • Mix, garnish, and present drinks using standard recipes with portion control
  • Check guests for proper identification and act upon guest inebriation as trained
  • Input orders into register and create checks for guests to maintain beverage accountability
  • Receive cash, make change, verify validity of charges, record charges, balance money, lock up beverage and food equipment, deposit cash drops, and secure bank
