Job Description

Salt + Smoke is a renowned restaurant group passionately dedicated to perfecting the craft of St. Louis-style barbecue. With several vibrant locations including Delmar Loop, Hampton, St. Charles, Ballpark Village, Ellisville, and South County, the company has carved a distinctive niche in delivering exceptional barbecue experiences to its community. Known for their commitment to quality and flavor, Salt + Smoke prides itself on their deep expertise in smoking meats and pairing them perfectly with bourbon and local beers, creating a unique and memorable atmosphere for guests. The team at Salt + Smoke is driven by a mission that goes beyond food and beverage; they are focused on people — both their guests and employees — cultivating a culture of hospitality, warmth, and connection that truly brings the spirit of barbecue to life. Salt + Smoke values diversity and inclusion, ensuring a supportive work environment where every team member can thrive and grow. They are committed to equal employment opportunities, actively promoting a workplace free of discrimination and harassment, reflecting their core values as an organization. The Bartender role at Salt + Smoke is a dynamic and integral part of the front-of-house team responsible for delivering excellent customer experiences through expert beverage preparation and genuine hospitality. Ideal candidates thrive in fast-paced, high-energy environments and possess a dedication to service excellence. As a bartender, you will be the welcoming face of the bar, engaging guests with your knowledge of a wide selection of whiskeys — with over 100 options available — craft cocktails made with house-made syrups, and an extensive lineup of local beers on tap. You’ll be expected to interact confidently with guests, sharing insights about the restaurant’s offerings and creating an inviting atmosphere that encourages repeat visits. Alongside drink preparation, the role includes responsibilities such as maintaining bar cleanliness, managing inventory prep, collaborating with kitchen staff on guest dietary needs, and processing customer payments efficiently. In this position, hospitality is paramount; you must be approachable, positive, and patient, turning every interaction into a memorable experience. Salt + Smoke emphasizes growth and advancement opportunities within their team, supporting bartenders who wish to pursue leadership roles or other areas within the organization. The company offers competitive pay along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, disability insurance, 401(k) with employer match, paid time off, and employee discounts. If you are passionate about great food, community, and delivering top-tier service, Salt + Smoke invites you to join their team where you can truly make happy happen.
