The Bartender role is essential to the operation of the bar and restaurant. They are responsible for keeping the bar area clean, organized, and well-stocked, and must understand the restaurant layout, seating capacities, and operational procedures. Job Requirements

- previous experience as a bartender
- ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy and follow-through
- ability to accurately compute mathematical calculations
- ability to deal effectively with customers using patience, tact and diplomacy
- ability to work under pressure and multitask
- knowledge of fine wines, beer and liquor
- knowledge of P.O.S. systems
- must communicate professionally in English both verbally and in writing
Job Qualifications
- Must have flexible schedule including availability on days, nights, weekends and holidays
- previous experience as a bartender
- desire to grow within the hospitality industry is preferred
- ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum of supervision
- ability to accurately compute and manipulate mathematical calculations
- ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger
- ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks at once
- knowledge of fine wines, beer and liquor
- alcohol awareness certification (TIPS training) is preferred
- knowledge of P.O.S. system, preferably Micros
- Food Handlers Certification, ServSafe Certified is preferred
- must be able to communicate professionally in English, both written and verbal. Conversational abilities in other languages helpful
Job Duties
- Greet guests, take food and beverage orders, prepare drink orders for the bar and restaurant
- maintain stock, supplies, and cleanliness of outlet and equipment
- have thorough working knowledge of Micros system including ordering, check presentation, payment processing, closing reports and tip reporting
- maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons and drunk driving
- maintain complete knowledge of all liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections, glassware and garnishes, menu items including daily specials, prices, preparation method/time, major ingredients and quality standards for taste, appearance, texture, serving temperature, portion size, garnish and presentation
- maintain complete knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, room capacity, hours of operation, proper table set-up and dress code of the restaurant
- obtain assigned bank and ensure accuracy of contracted monies, keep bank secure at all times
- handle guest complaints and ensure guest satisfaction
- maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times, following all safety and health department guidelines
