Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • valid unexpired food handlers and RBS certification
  • previous customer service experience preferred
  • previous bartending and serving experience preferred
  • professional appearance and attitude
  • excellent communication skills

  • basic mathematical skills

Job Duties

  • Collect money for drinks served
  • check identification of customers to verify age requirements
  • balance cash receipts
  • persuade customers to limit excessive drinking
  • order transportation for intoxicated patrons
  • clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipment
  • take beverage orders from staff or patrons
  • serve wine, liquor, and bottled or draft beer
  • clean bars, work areas, and tables
  • mix ingredients to prepare cocktails and other drinks
  • serve snacks or food items to bar customers
  • order or requisition liquors and supplies
  • ask disruptive customers to leave or remove them
  • slice and pit fruit for drink garnishes
  • arrange bottles and glasses for display
  • plan, organize, and control bar operations
  • supervise bar staff and bartenders
  • plan bar menus
  • prepare appetizers
  • create drink recipes
  • prepare beverages for servers and banquets
  • assist servers and other employees
  • maintain a positive, smiling demeanor
  • demonstrate extensive drink and menu knowledge
  • follow safety and operational guidelines
  • provide the highest quality service
  • operate point-of-sale system proficiently

  • maintain bar cleanliness and organization
