This prestigious establishment is known for its stunning ocean views, elegant design, and impeccable service standards. As part of the hospitality division under Marriott International, Pelican Hill maintains a high level of dedication to guest satisfaction and quality service, embodying the essence of luxury and relaxation in every aspect of its operations. The resort provides a sophisticated environment where guests can enjoy fine dining, recreational activities, and world-class amenities that cater to both leisure and business travelers alike. With a strong emphasis on delivering personalized and memorable experiences, the resort’s team members are committed to upholding the brand’s esteemed reputation for excellence.

The part-time Bartender position at The Resort at Pelican Hill is a dynamic and engaging role designed for individuals passionate about mixology and guest service. This non-management position offers an hourly wage of $16.90 and is tip eligible, providing a rewarding compensation structure for those skilled in beverage preparation and customer interaction. The role involves the preparation of drink orders meticulously according to specified recipes, ensuring consistency and quality in every beverage served. Bartenders at the resort are responsible for issuing, opening, and serving wine and champagne bottles, requiring attention to detail and proper handling techniques.

Maintaining a clean and organized bar area is essential to this role, including the setup and upkeep of the bar unit, tables, and related equipment. Preparing fresh garnishes and stocking necessary supplies such as ice, glassware, and paper products are critical tasks that support efficient service flow. Additionally, transporting supplies to the bar setup area and washing soiled glassware are key operational duties to sustain inventory and cleanliness standards. Bartenders must adeptly anticipate replenishment needs to avoid service delays and ensure customer satisfaction.

Financial responsibilities include processing all payment methods, counting the cash bank at the end of shifts, completing cashier reports, resolving discrepancies, and securing funds, reflecting the trust and accountability inherent in this position. Security is further emphasized through the safeguarding of liquors, beers, wines, cabinets, and storage areas. Completion of closing duties ensures the bar area is properly prepared for the next business day. This role also requires strict adherence to all company safety and security policies, reporting of any accidents or unsafe conditions, and completion of mandatory safety training and certifications.

Beyond the technical skills, bartenders must exhibit professionalism in appearance, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets. Excellent communication skills are essential for welcoming guests, anticipating their needs, addressing service requests, and fostering positive relationships with team members to achieve common goals. The physical demands of the job include standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, lifting items up to 50 pounds, and navigating various work environments safely. The Resort at Pelican Hill fosters an inclusive work environment and encourages applications from individuals who share its commitment to quality and service excellence.

By joining The Resort at Pelican Hill as a Bartender, individuals become part of a reputable brand under the Marriott International umbrella, offering opportunities for career growth within the hospitality industry.
