The role of Bartender at Bass Pro Shops is designed to be part of a dynamic team that ensures every guest enjoys a pleasant and memorable dining experience within the restaurant setting. The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving drinks to customers accurately and efficiently according to established recipes and guidelines while maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the bar area. This position requires not just technical skills in mixing beverages but also strong customer service capabilities. The Bartender acts as an expert on the bar systems, drink recipes, and knowledge of liquor, wine, and beer offered, using suggestive selling techniques to enhance guest satisfaction and maximize sales.

In addition to drink preparation, the Bartender handles cash transactions, maintains balanced registers, performs daily accounting procedures including tip declarations, and supports server duties when necessary, such as handling to-go and associate food orders. The role demands attentiveness to guests’ needs, monitoring drinks for timely reorders, verifying legal age for alcohol consumption, and ensuring responsible serving practices to prevent overindulgence. The position entails completing all required training to stay updated on company standards and maintains a cooperative team-oriented approach that fosters flexibility and mindfulness.

Physical requirements include regular movement such as walking, standing, bending, climbing, stooping, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, reflecting the active nature of the job. While the role operates under general supervision, it requires sound independent judgment to solve problems, complete assignments, and recommend improvements in work procedures.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED preferred
  • at least one year of experience working as a barista, bartender, and/or food preparation
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • willingness to learn new skills and be a team player
  • ability to handle cash register tasks
  • ability to memorize menu items
  • ability to follow local, state, and federal laws
  • ability to work standing for extended periods
  • strong communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED preferred
  • at least one year of experience working as a barista, bartender, and/or food preparation
  • experience in and passion for consumer service

  • delivering quality beverages consistently and according to shop standards
  • ability to handle all required tasks around handling cash register
  • learn all menus and is able to communicate all food and beverage offerings
  • clean and clear service areas
  • perform correct POS transactions, closing duties and accounting procedures as required
  • ability and desire to obey all local, state, and federal laws
  • ability to memorize and become knowledgeable of menu items

Job Duties

  • Supports a strong commitment to world class guest service and ensures a pleasant and enjoyable dining experience for restaurant patrons
  • functions as location’s expert on bar systems, recipes, procedures and knowledge of liquor, wine and beer served
  • completes all training requirements
  • greets bar guests promptly
  • uses suggestive selling techniques
  • records beverage order, enters order into computer system, prepares drink in accordance to established guidelines and delivers drink to guest
  • monitors guest’s drinks to anticipate re-order requests
  • collects monies owed and performs guest check accountability procedures
  • maintains a balanced bar drawer
  • performs tip declaration activities
  • prepares and completes orders for servers
  • washes bar service ware
  • sets up, cleans, stocks and maintains bar area and bar cooler
  • performs server responsibilities as needed
  • handles 'To Go' and associate food orders
  • performs inventory activities as scheduled
  • understands and executes procedures for verifying guest’s ability to legally purchase and consume alcohol and knows how to prevent a guest from over indulging
  • performs all other duties as assigned
