Job Description
Palomino is a distinguished farm-to-table restaurant and event venue renowned for its dedication to seasonal ingredients, community connection, and exceptional hospitality. Rooted in a philosophy that the bar is the heartbeat of hospitality, Palomino creates a unique and welcoming environment where guests can enjoy thoughtfully crafted drinks that highlight the best of the local farms and seasonal offerings. The establishment prides itself on combining culinary artistry with genuine, warm service, creating memorable experiences that celebrate abundance and authenticity in every detail. Located in California, Palomino is deeply invested in fostering a close-knit team that values collaboration, respect, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. This part-time opportunity offers a dynamic and engaging workplace where individuals passionate about cocktail craft and guest interaction can thrive while contributing to an atmosphere that feels both distinct and inviting.
The role of the Palomino Bartender is central to the dining and event experience, serving as both a craftsman in cocktail preparation and a warm, engaging host who builds rapport with guests. The Bartender’s responsibilities include setting up and breaking down the bar station each day, meticulously preparing cocktails, serving wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages with consistency and speed, and communicating detailed information about ingredients, sourcing, and allergen content to patrons. This position demands a firm knowledge of the rotating seasonal cocktail menu and beverage offerings, empowering the bartender to provide tailored recommendations and support tableside wine service that complements the restaurant's farm-to-table ethos.
In addition to technical expertise, the role requires excellent interpersonal skills to greet and interact warmly with guests, ensuring an attentive and personalized service experience. Compliance with California alcohol laws and responsible beverage service is critical, including verifying guest identification and managing service refusals when necessary. The bartender is also tasked with maintaining a clean and organized bar environment, monitoring stock levels, and collaborating closely with front-of-house servers, kitchen staff, and event teams to provide seamless dining and private event service. This comprehensive approach requires multitasking, prioritization, and the ability to maintain composure during periods of high volume, all while contributing positively to the team culture. Compensation for this position ranges from $19 to $24 per hour plus tips and gratuities, making it a rewarding opportunity for knowledgeable and enthusiastic hospitality professionals dedicated to exceptional service and craft bartending.
