Bartenders in this role must strictly adhere to all state and federal regulations concerning the service of alcoholic beverages, ensuring responsible consumption and legal compliance. Bartenders are responsible for accurate drink preparation according to company standards and must verify the legal drinking age of every customer by checking identification. They also need to manage guest communication tactfully, particularly when dealing with intoxicated guests, where de-escalation skills and knowledge of when to involve management or security are crucial.

The role also requires bartenders to manage cash handling precisely, maintain cleanliness and sanitation at their workstations, and keep bar equipment in excellent condition. Additional duties may include setting up and breaking down bar equipment and organizing storage areas like the cooler. Job Duties

  • Demonstrate ability to meet company standard for guest service interaction and uniform standards
  • follow bar pre-shift notes and menus and provide service as described
  • serve alcoholic beverages following proper procedures and compliance with state and federal regulations
  • learn and suggestively upsell various beer wine and spirits
  • pour drinks responsibly according to company standards
  • check guest IDs to verify minimum age requirement
  • communicate a cut-off to guests as necessary
  • listen and respond to customer requests or concerns
  • de-escalate intoxicated guest situations and contact management or security when required
  • request and restock products as needed
  • handle cash accurately and maintain bank at bar
  • maintain clean and sanitary work station and ensure bar equipment is clean and well maintained
  • perform set-up and breakdown of bar equipment and assist with cooler organization
