The Bartender role at Oak View Group is a pivotal position responsible for the proficient and personable service of all beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, within the dynamic environment of OVG-managed venues. This position requires candidates who can maintain professionalism and adapt efficiently in fast-paced, evolving settings. The bartender will ensure compliance with all state and federal regulatory requirements related to alcohol service, demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, and uphold the highest standards of guest service and safety. This role is hourly with a base pay of $6.75, plus eligibility for tips, offering a rewarding opportunity to engage with guests in a vibrant live entertainment setting.

Job Requirements

  • Six months or more experience bartending
  • High school diploma or GED is preferred
  • Accurate cash handling skills required
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to be self-directed while working in a team-oriented environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and long hours

Job Qualifications

  • Six months or more experience bartending

  • Bartending school preferred
  • Accurate cash handling skills required

Job Duties

  • Demonstrate ability to meet the company standard for excellence in the areas of guest service, interaction with co-workers, and uniform standards
  • Follow the bar pre-shift notes and bar menus and provide service as described
  • Serve alcoholic beverages following all proper procedures for serving alcoholic drinks, including state/federal regulations pertaining to the distribution of alcohol
  • Responsible for learning or having knowledge of various beer, wine varieties & spirits available and being able to learn to suggestively upsell products to guests
  • Pour drinks responsibly in accordance with company standards for serving size
  • Check the guest's ID in accordance with state/federal regulations to verify the minimum age requirement for the purchase of alcoholic beverages
  • Communicate a cut-off to a guest as required
  • Listen and respond to any customer requests or concerns
  • De-escalate intoxicated guest situations and contact management or security if necessary
  • Contact a management member if unable to resolve or make a decision beyond the scope of standard decision-making
  • Request additional products or restock products as needed
  • Responsible for the issued bank at the bar
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation at all times
  • Ensure that bar equipment is clean and well maintained
  • Set up and break down bar equipment as required and assist with the organization of the cooler as assigned
