The role of Bartender Non-Tipped at Sodexo, based at the University of Southern Maine in Portland, is designed for an individual who will provide exceptional customer service while preparing and serving a variety of drinks efficiently and without waste. This is an on-call part-time position with a pay rate of $19.00 per hour, ideal for someone who is flexible with varying shifts and has open availability. The bartender will work closely with servers and other staff to ensure that customers receive prompt and accurate service. Key responsibilities include greeting customers, mixing alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks with proper garnishes, and ensuring that the bar area is fully stocked and equipped with necessary tools and supplies. The role demands physical stamina, as it involves extensive walking, standing for long periods, lifting up to 35 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 50 pounds, as well as performing repetitive motions. Attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively with team members are essential to the success in this role.

This position requires at least a high school diploma or equivalent, with 0 to 1 year of relevant experience preferred. Candidates must also meet the minimum legal age requirements to serve alcohol as mandated by local and state laws. While prior bartending experience is advantageous, the ability to prepare a wide range of drink recipes correctly is highly preferred.
