Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous bartending or customer service experience preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages according to state law
  • Must have or obtain necessary alcohol service certification
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to handle cash and operate point of sale systems

Job Duties

  • Maintain a friendly, calm, and helpful demeanor in high-stress situations and a continuously fast-paced environment
  • Provide premium/VIP service to guests and ensure their complete satisfaction, including greeting and interacting with guests in a friendly, professional, and enthusiastic manner
  • Anticipate and meet guest needs and preferences
  • Remain calm and professional when dealing with guests who are difficult or upset
  • Establish and maintain professional, trusting, and positive working relationships with managers, supervisors, staff, coworkers, guests, and vendors
  • Ensure that tasks are completed accurately, efficiently, and on time
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beer, wine varietals, and non-alcoholic selections available within the operation
  • Mix and serve drinks following specified recipes
  • Ensure all beverages are served in designated glassware with specified ingredients
  • Understand the preparation method and garnishes for each drink
  • Always maintain an orderly and clean bar, including bar surface, draught area, coolers, wells, sinks, mixing materials, server area, and lounge
  • Cocktail, bus, and service guests through the shift, ensuring a visually appealing environment
  • Maintain product inventory and supplies throughout the shift, including all types of liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, glassware, ice, and bar supplies
  • Ensure workstation is set up for the day/shift
  • Ensure all fruit/garnish are prepped to specifications
  • Close the bar at the end of each shift per company standards
  • Ensure receipt of accurate payments
  • Maintain all appearance standards per established uniform and appearance guidelines
  • Maintain impeccably professional grooming standards and personal hygiene
  • Follow, adhere to, practice, and enforce the safety and sanitation standards set forth by the Food & Beverage Department, CDC, and OC Health Department, including social distancing, use of face masks when in the presence of guests, use of gloves when handling guest food or beverage, frequent hand washing, and regularly scheduled cleaning/sanitizing high contact surfaces or surfaces used for guest food and beverage
