Job Description

The hiring establishment for this role is a hospitality venue that includes a bar and lounge, typically associated with a hotel or similar setting where guest services and beverage preparation are paramount. This establishment prioritizes a high standard of service, quality beverage offerings, and compliance with regulatory requirements to ensure customers enjoy a safe and pleasant environment. It operates within the food and beverage industry, catering to guests who expect expertly prepared cocktails, friendly and efficient service, and a clean, welcoming atmosphere. The establishment employs bartenders who play a vital role in creating an enjoyable guest experience by not only serving drinks but also assisting with related food service and maintaining the overall bar environment. The position is likely full-time or part-time, depending on business needs, and usually offers competitive wages consistent with hospitality industry standards. Bartenders may also benefit from potential tips in addition to their hourly pay.

The role of the Bartender is essential to the smooth operation of the bar and lounge. The Bartender is responsible for setting up the bar before service, greeting guests, taking drink orders, preparing beverages—both alcoholic and non-alcoholic—according to the establishment's standards and procedures, and ensuring the bar area is clean and well-stocked. The bartender also manages cash transactions, secures beverage and food inventory, and complies with all applicable laws and corporate policies related to alcoholic beverage service. This role requires a vigilant and responsible individual who can efficiently manage multiple tasks such as checking customers' identification, slicing garnishes, rotating stock for freshness, and controlling waste. The bartender supports the kitchen and service team by assisting with food prep and bar menu service and may perform bar back duties as needed. Due to the nature of the job, there are physical demands like standing for extended periods, bending, and lifting.

Key responsibilities include adhering to health and safety regulations, maintaining cleanliness, handling cash and deposits carefully, and performing inventory checks before and after events to assist with cost reconciliation. Certifications such as SERV Safe and TABC are mandatory, alongside basic mathematical skills for cash register operation and cash handling accuracy. Experience in hotel settings is preferred, highlighting the establishment's commitment to high service standards and professionalism. A fundamental knowledge of food and beverage service, excellent communication skills in English, and a customer-friendly approach are vital. Overall, this role is perfect for individuals who are responsible, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking in a dynamic environment while contributing positively to the guest experience.
