Minnehaha Country Club is celebrating its 121st year as Sioux Falls' premier country club, known for providing top-tier recreational and dining experiences to its membership of approximately 720 families. Established as a longstanding pillar in the community, the club operates year-round, offering an immaculate championship 18-hole golf course alongside multiple amenities including swimming, tennis, and fitness facilities. Job Requirements

minimum high school education or equivalent
prior bartending experience preferred
ability to work flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, evenings, and split shifts
capacity to lift up to 50 pounds
ability to stand and walk for extended periods
good communication skills
adherence to safety and sanitation standards
compliance with alcohol service laws
availability for immediate work
willingness to perform physical tasks such as climbing stairs, bending, and reaching

Job Qualifications

high school diploma or equivalent
previous bartending experience in a professional environment preferred
knowledge of standard drink recipes and cocktail preparation
familiarity with local and state alcohol service laws
basic knowledge of POS systems
strong communication and interpersonal skills
ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
ability to work independently and as part of a team
good organizational skills
dynamic and outgoing personality
knowledge of safety and sanitation requirements

Job Duties

Inspect the bar prior to opening to ensure adequate supplies are available
request additional supplies as necessary and stock the bar
follow set-up procedures
prepare garnishes, fruits mixes and pre-mixed drinks prior to opening bar
provide immediate attention to all members and guests upon seating
mix, prepare, and serve drinks to members and guests and mix and prepare drinks ordered by food and beverage servers according to approved standard recipes
ensure that the correct account numbers and names are given for billing
maintain and clean bar area and equipment
maintain records of liquors, beers, and wine to ensure bar stock is maintained at all times
clean and lock the bar area according to prescribed closing procedures
ensure that all food items are correctly stored, labeled, dated, and rotated to prevent any health or safety hazards
serve drinks to members and guests seated at lounge tables in the absence of a beverage server
continually practice beverage and revenue control procedures
present the bill
handle all cash and credit card charges as prescribed by standard operating procedures
advise supervisor of any complaints as soon as they occur
perform clean-up and closing duties as assigned by manager
attend pre-meal meetings as requested
turn in signed tip declaration form weekly
thank members and guests and invite them to return
consistently follow local and state laws and the club’s policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages to members and guests
attend department meetings as required
perform other assignments and projects as required by club management
