A bartender at Lakefront Anchorage Hotel is expected to maintain a clean and well-stocked bar area, adhere to health and safety standards, and foster an enjoyable dining and drinking atmosphere. The bartender's duties extend beyond simple drink preparation to include cash handling, inventory management, compliance with licensing and safety protocols related to alcohol service, and contributing positively to the team environment.
Typical duties include maintaining stock levels for fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and perishables, greeting guests with professionalism, mixing drinks according to standard recipes with portion control, handling cash transactions accurately, securing the bar area at closing, and performing general cleaning tasks. The position demands a comprehensive knowledge of spirits, wine, and beer, an ability to communicate clearly with guests, and skill in operating point-of-sale systems. Applicants must be vigilant in identifying signs of guest intoxication and be confident in tactfully refusing service when necessary. This role requires physical stamina, including lifting and carrying items up to 50 pounds, as well as a commitment to safety and professionalism in all guest and associate interactions.
Working at the Lakefront Anchorage Hotel means joining a team that values dedication, respect, and a passion for hospitality. The hotel is an equal opportunity employer that fosters an inclusive workplace free from discrimination, encouraging applicants who take pride in their work and thrive in varied-paced environments. Bartending experience of at least one year is required, along with valid TAMS and food handler cards, and a willingness to contribute positive energy as a productive team member.
