Job Requirements

  • Minimum age 21
  • previous bartending, serving, and/or customer service experience
  • ability to stand for long periods up to 5 hours
  • able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds
  • wear closed toe, non-canvas, non-skid soled shoes
  • maintain excellent attendance and punctuality
  • maintain professional appearance and uniform standards

Job Qualifications

  • Must be age 21 or above
  • outgoing personality with positive attitude and strong communication skills
  • knowledgeable of wine and beverage brand selections, drink garnishes, and prices
  • comprehensive knowledge of wines by glass and growing knowledge of wines by bottle
  • in-depth understanding of house cocktail ingredients, inspiration, and techniques
  • complete comprehension of classic and contemporary cocktail recipes
  • open to trying new food and drinks
  • able to confidently make food and beverage pairing recommendations
  • knowledgeable of pre-check register operation
  • possess basic math skills and handle money accurately
  • computer literate with ability to operate ordering procedures
  • knowledge of basic sanitation standards
  • effective communication skills with co-workers and supervisors
  • ability to think and communicate clearly in high-pressure situations
  • excellent attendance and punctuality

Job Duties

  • Observe customers as they enter the bar and greet them promptly and properly within 1 minute
  • present drink menus, make recommendations, and answer beverage questions
  • take beverage orders from guests and servers
  • prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to standard recipes
  • upsell drink specials and food items as directed
  • execute wine service when necessary
  • check regularly with guests to ensure satisfaction
  • communicate allergy and dietary restriction information clearly
  • take tables in bar or dining room as assigned
  • record drink orders accurately in POS system
  • accept guest payments and process transactions
  • learn and recognize regular patrons by name
  • provide gracious and professional service efficiently
  • respond promptly and courteously to guest requests or problems
  • report equipment or bar maintenance issues to management
  • maintain bottles and glasses attractively and functionally
  • keep bar properly stocked at all times
  • maintain cleanliness of bar areas including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves, and storage
  • assist in restocking bar inventory and supplies
  • maintain professional appearance and uniform standards
  • foster positive teamwork among Co-workers and between front of house, back of house, and hotel staff
  • thank every guest sincerely upon departure
  • follow established sanitation and company procedures
  • perform additional tasks as assigned by management
