The Bartender role within Continental specifically supports event operations in locations such as Metro Detroit venues and Forte Belanger’s private events. This position is part-time and offers a starting hourly rate of $22.50, dependent on experience, along with growth opportunities and benefits including a 401(k) match. Having or obtaining TIPS certification is preferred to ensure compliance with responsible alcohol service standards.

Job Requirements
- Must be 17 years or older
- At least one year of bartending experience
- Knowledge of serving, storing, and handling food and beverage products
- Ability to describe and serve various alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
- Preferred TIPS Certification or ability to pass TIPS class
- Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and move intermittently during work hours
- Willingness to work in various event settings including venues, private residences, and outside locations
Job Qualifications
- Must be at least 17 years old
- Minimum one year bartending experience
- Knowledge of cocktail recipes, spirits, wine, beer, and beverage management
- Ability to describe and serve different types of liquor, cocktails, beer and wine
- Preferred TIPS certification or willingness to obtain certification
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Job Duties
- Attend pre-shift meetings with event managers and team to review event briefing and timing
- Ensure timely bar setup and breakdown of bar products and glassware per event
- Batch signature cocktails according to recipe when requested
- Manage non-alcoholic beverage stations throughout events
- Assist with setting up and breaking down cocktail areas and dining rooms including polishing glassware, silverware, and linens
- Create a welcoming and hospitable environment for guests while anticipating their needs
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of specialty, classic, and signature cocktails, as well as wine, beer, and other beverage offerings
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar and dining areas
- Communicate effectively with staff, management, and culinary teams during service
- Practice lateral service and support team members as needed
