The role we are recruiting for focuses on delivering exceptional guest service as a bartender at our dynamic venues. This position requires passionate, motivated individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, entertaining environment. The successful candidate will interact with guests in a friendly and natural manner, cultivating relationships to encourage repeat business. The bartender will be responsible for preparing drinks according to company standards, managing cash transactions, and ensuring compliance with local alcohol service laws and company policies. This role also requires responsible alcohol service, including recognizing when guests are intoxicated and handling such situations safely and courteously.

Candidates will need to pass a timed mixology drill and pour test, display skill in interpersonal communication, and be able to manage physically demanding tasks such as prolonged standing and lifting objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Flexibility in working hours, including late shifts and special event scheduling, is essential. The role also includes opening, running, and closing duties at the bar, maintaining safety and sanitation standards, and handling equipment and safety logs.

Job Requirements

  • Skill in interpersonal communication and teamwork
  • Physically able to pass a pour test and a mixology drill (timed)
  • Ability to deal with intoxicated guests in a positive and safety minded manner
  • Tolerance of all cultures, music and art forms
  • COVID-19 vaccination required subject to legally valid exemptions

  • Experience recognizing valid IDs preferred
  • Experience in a live music environment preferred

Job Duties

  • Interact with guests in a natural, friendly demeanor
  • Cultivate regular guests and repeat business
  • Successfully complete a pour test prior to every shift where applicable
  • Suggestively sell both beverages and menu items to guests at the bar
  • Deliver food items and beverage orders promptly
  • Prioritize and organize drink orders
  • Consistently prepare beverages according to standard recipes and venue specifications
  • Abide by all control systems
  • Record any equipment failure and/or safety hazards in bar log
  • Recognize when guests are becoming too intoxicated and refuse further service of alcohol in a courteous and safety-minded manner, bringing it to the attention of a manager
  • Ensure responsible alcohol service per local ordinance, alcohol awareness training and HOB alcohol policies
  • Request proper identification for anyone appearing under 30 years of age
  • Maintain company safety and sanitation standards
  • Perform opening, running, closing duties according to company policy
  • Prepare guest checks on point of sales terminal and process payment according to company policy
  • Maintain bartender bank
  • Perform cash pull / check out procedures
  • Maintain appropriate comp and spill checks
  • Occasionally work special events that are scheduled throughout the venue
