Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • RBS certification or ability to become certified within 30 days
  • Food Handlers card current or ability to obtain within 30 days
  • Previous bartending experience preferred
  • Ability to stand or walk for long periods
  • Effective communication skills
  • Knowledge of classic cocktails, wines, spirits and beers
  • Ability to handle physical requirements including lifting up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to work in stressful environments
  • Ability to adhere to grooming and dress standards
  • Ability to interact courteously with guests and coworkers
  • Ability to follow safety and alcohol service policies
  • Ability to maintain clean and organized work areas

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Some college experience or degree preferred
  • Must be RBS certified or become certified within 30 days of hire
  • Must have a current Food Handlers card or become certified within 30 days of hire
  • Previous bartending experience in a professional setting preferred
  • Knowledge of classic cocktails, wines, spirits and beers
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to implement and uphold service standards
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments
  • Ability to interact well with associates and guests
  • Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations
  • Ability to speak, comprehend, read and write English
  • Ability to work under variable temperature conditions
  • Energetic, enthusiastic and motivated

Job Duties

  • Prepare all alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages for guests
  • Assess bar customer needs and preferences and make personalized recommendations
  • Stock and maintain bar area to resort and health department standards
  • Provide an exceptional and memorable guest experience
  • Participate in ongoing training for professional development
  • Serve food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests sitting at the bar
  • Set up bar and bar area according to resort standards
  • Cut fruit and prepare garnishes as set by resort standards for service
  • Consistently keep the bar area organized and clean
  • Know all specialty cocktail ingredients and garnishes
  • Follow pouring procedures appropriately with accurate measurements
  • Notify Supervisors immediately of any product shortages or out-of-stock items
  • Have working knowledge of draft beer systems and how to properly change a keg
  • Answer questions on menu selections and drinks to servers and guests
  • Communicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions, wait times, recooking orders, and product availability
  • Record all transactions in MICROS system accurately at time of order
  • Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverage
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas, china, glass, etc. throughout the day
  • Complete closing duties including restocking items to par levels and turning off lights
  • Present accurate checks to guests and process payments
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to resort standards
  • Anticipate and address guest service needs
  • Speak clearly and professionally
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others and support team goals
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance
  • Thank guests with genuine appreciation
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested
  • Assist Supervisors with inventory
  • Notify manager or supervisor in a timely manner about suspicious ID cards or intoxicated guests
  • Proper cash handling of banks
  • Timely transfer of checks for guests moved to a different section
  • Adhere to departmental policies and procedures
  • Effectively communicate with peers, management, and front of house employees
  • Practice effective listening
  • Maintain cleanliness of immediate work area and general property
  • Subscribe to resort's grooming, dress, and uniform standards
  • Be courteous to all guests and coworkers
  • Maintain behavior consistent with sexual harassment and hostile work environment policies
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections, correct glassware and garnishes at their respective outlet
  • Adhere to departmental and resort policies and procedures
  • Be familiar with all hotel services, features, and local attractions to respond accurately to guest inquiries
