Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • some college experience or degree preferred
  • must be RBS certified or become certified within 30 days of hire
  • must have a current Food Handlers card or become certified within 30 days of hire
  • previous bartending experience in a professional setting preferred

Job Duties

  • Preparing all alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages for guests
  • assessing bar customer needs and preferences and making personalized recommendations
  • stocking and maintaining the bar area to resort and health department standards
  • providing an exceptional and memorable guest experience
  • serving food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests sitting at the bar
  • setting up bar and bar area according to resort standards
  • cutting fruit and preparing garnishes as set by resort standards for service
  • consistently keeping the bar area organized and clean
  • knowing all specialty cocktail ingredients and garnishes
  • participating in updated training for bar and menu items
  • following pouring procedures accurately using a jigger
  • notifying supervisors immediately of product shortages or out-of-stock items
  • having working knowledge of draft beer systems and keg changes
  • answering questions on menu selections and drinks to servers and guests
  • communicating with kitchen regarding menu questions, wait times, recooking orders, and product availability
  • recording all transactions in MICROS system at time of order accurately
  • checking in with guests to ensure satisfaction with food courses and beverages
  • maintaining cleanliness of work areas, china, and glassware
  • completing closing duties including restocking items, turning off lights
  • presenting physical and accurate checks to guests and processing payments
  • ensuring clean and professional uniform and personal appearance
  • welcoming and acknowledging all guests according to resort standards
  • anticipating and addressing guests’ service needs
  • speaking clearly and professionally
  • developing and maintaining positive working relationships with team
  • ensuring adherence to quality expectations and standards
  • moving and handling objects up to 25 pounds
  • thanking guests with genuine appreciation
  • performing other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors
  • assisting supervisors with inventory
  • notifying management of suspicious IDs or intoxicated guests
  • proper cash handling of banks
  • timely transfer of checks for guests moving sections
  • adhering to departmental policies and procedures
  • effective communication with peers, management, line and front of house employees
  • practicing effective listening
  • being responsible for cleanliness of work area and general property
  • subscribing to grooming, dress, and uniform standards
  • maintaining courteous behavior
  • compliance with sexual harassment and hostile work environment policies
  • maintaining knowledge of liquor brands, beers, non-alcoholic selections, correct glassware and garnishes
