With nearly 50,000 dedicated members of the Sanford Family, the organization offers numerous opportunities for professional development and career advancement within its various departments and facilities. Sanford Health prides itself on delivering high-quality care and services while fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment for all employees. As a recognized leader in healthcare, Sanford Health combines innovation with compassion, ensuring that every member of its community receives exceptional care and support throughout their healthcare journey.

The Bartender role at Sanford Health is a vital position within the food and beverage services, designed to enhance the overall experience of patrons by providing exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth operating procedures within the designated serving areas. This position involves a dynamic variety of responsibilities, including preparing and serving alcoholic beverages, maintaining clean and sanitary bar areas, and managing inventory control. Bartenders at Sanford Health are expected to uphold strict compliance with state alcohol laws and adhere to the organization's standard operating procedures to guarantee safety and quality in every service interaction.

Focused on delivering an outstanding patron experience, the Bartender will engage directly with customers, offering menu advice and responding to inquiries while maintaining a professional and approachable demeanor. The role entails handling computerized cash register transactions, managing opening and closing duties such as cash control, inventory checks, restocking, and thorough cleaning and sanitization of equipment and serving areas. Operators may be required to use various equipment, including beverage machines, toasters, ice cream dispensers, dishwashers, and refrigeration units. With a strong emphasis on food safety and sanitation, the Bartender must ensure all products are handled correctly and that the bar area complies with all health standards.

Moreover, the position demands the Bartender to work in a fast-paced environment, often requiring them to stand for extended periods and move about the service area efficiently. Flexibility in working hours is essential, as shifts can vary and may include nights, weekends, and holidays. This role demands independence, teamwork, and the ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining a high level of service quality. Bartenders may also serve catered parties and manage portable bars, further enhancing the diverse nature of the duties.

Sanford Health supports the professional growth of its team members by providing training opportunities such as Alcohol Awareness Training when required by location, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement in service delivery. Hiring for this part-time or varying-hour position does not involve union membership. By joining Sanford Health as a Bartender, individuals become part of an esteemed healthcare system that values dedication, customer focus, and operational excellence, contributing to the organization's mission of health and healing.
