We are currently seeking a professional and high-energy bartender to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in creating memorable experiences for our customers by expertly mixing classical cocktails alongside innovative new beverages. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a friendly and engaging demeanor, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. As a bartender at Big City Wings, you will greet and interact with customers to understand their preferences, recommend menu items, and prepare beverages with attention to quality and presentation. The role also involves upselling drinks and food items, maintaining cleanliness behind the bar, and ensuring compliance with all food safety and legal regulations. This position requires an individual who is knowledgeable about drink mixing techniques, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking during peak hours. The bartender will be responsible for managing orders and transactions accurately while contributing to the overall positive atmosphere of the restaurant.

Candidates must have the availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays and must maintain a neat appearance coupled with a professional attitude. Basic math skills and proficiency with point-of-sale systems are essential for handling cash and electronic payments. Physical stamina is necessary, as the role involves standing for long hours, frequent bending, reaching, stooping, and lifting objects up to 50 pounds. Responsibilities extend beyond drink preparation to include restocking supplies, cleaning glassware, utensils, and ensuring the bar area remains presentable at all times. Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age and have TABC and Food Handler certification
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Positive, engaging personality, and professional appearance
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong task and time management abilities
  • Eye for detail and understanding of drink mixing tools and techniques
  • Must typically be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time up to 10 hours
  • Must be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
  • Move tables, chairs and highchairs regularly to accommodate guests needs
  • Carry trays from Kitchen window to front counter, dining room or parking lot as needed
  • Refill ice bins, refill beverages, clean restrooms, bus tables, and other restaurant functions as needed

Job Duties

  • Welcoming customers, reading and listening to people to determine beverage preferences, making recommendations, and taking drink orders
  • Informing customers about new beverages and specials
  • Selecting and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages to customers
  • Checking identification to ensure customers are the legal age to purchase alcohol
  • Taking inventory and ordering supplies to ensure bar and tables are well-stocked
  • Adhering to all food safety and quality regulations
  • Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register
  • Maintaining a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning tables, and washing glasses, utensils, and equipment
  • Moving tables, chairs and highchairs regularly to accommodate guest needs
  • Carrying trays from Kitchen window to front counter, dining room or parking lot as needed
  • Refilling ice bins, refilling beverages, cleaning restrooms, bussing tables, and other restaurant functions as needed
