This hotel is a key component of The Grand LA, a billion-dollar project that elevates the city's hospitality and cultural landscape. This is the seventh Conrad Hotel in the United States and the first in California, highlighting its significance within the luxury hotel sector. Situated in Downtown LA's cultural corridor, Conrad Los Angeles offers an unparalleled experience with over 300 beautifully appointed rooms, a world-class spa, and a spectacular 16,000-square-foot rooftop pool deck. The hotel also boasts 12,000 square feet of event space suitable for a variety of occasions, as well as three distinct dining experiences. Among these is the signature restaurant San Laurel, created in partnership with Chef Jose Andres' award-winning restaurant group, JoseAndresFoodGroup.
As a Bartender at Conrad Los Angeles, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional guest service in this luxury setting. This position requires someone with a passion for mixology and an understanding of fine beverage preparation. You will be responsible for crafting and serving beverages to guests, ensuring every drink meets the high standards of the Conrad brand. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years bartending experience in high-end or luxury cocktail bars and preferably some experience as a mixologist. A background involving FORBES training is advantageous, underscoring the position's focus on expertise and professionalism.
This role demands a solid foundation in beverage preparation, including knowledge of a variety of alcoholic drinks, and the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations to operate the cash register accurately. Tasks include managing cash transactions, balancing monetary amounts, and understanding portion control to avoid waste. Fundamental English language writing skills are necessary to complete paperwork such as requisitions, balance sheets, and vouchers properly. Manual dexterity is essential for tasks such as garnishing drinks, handling glassware, mixing beverages, and managing inventory. Communication skills are critical since you will interact directly with guests, taking orders and promoting menu items. Furthermore, you must be able to operate point of sale systems efficiently and handle physical demands like lifting weights up to 40 lbs and standing or walking for extended periods.
