The Bartender role at Aloft Atlanta Downtown offers an exciting opportunity for hospitality professionals passionate about delivering customized beverage service in a dynamic and energetic environment. The bartender is responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere where guests can relax and enjoy premium beverages. This role involves greeting guests warmly, providing accurate descriptions of food and drink options, maintaining an orderly bar area, and ensuring beverage stock is adequately replenished. Bartenders must demonstrate expertise in mixology, adhere to portion control, comply with food safety and handling policies, and support team operations by attending departmental meetings and completing side work. This role requires excellent multitasking abilities, effective communication, and a friendly demeanor, fostering positive guest experiences and seamless teamwork. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Experience in hospitality or bartending preferred
  • Knowledge of drink preparation and mixology
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must greet guests with a positive and friendly attitude
  • Must follow instructions and perform duties as assigned
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately
  • Must maintain cleanliness and organization of bar areas
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Must follow food safety and sanitation policies
  • Ability to work standing and walking for extended periods
  • Strong communication skills in English
  • Must arrive and leave on time for scheduled shifts
  • Must comply with clock-in/out and break schedules
  • Provide notice when calling out for shifts as directed

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in hospitality, service, or consumer-facing franchise preferred
  • Knowledge of drink preparation
  • Previous bartender experience preferred
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to follow instructions, complete tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Friendly service with a smile to guests
  • Flexible availability including days, nights, weekends and holidays
  • Punctuality and adherence to clock-in/out policies
  • Effective communication skills in English

Job Duties

  • Greet guests happily and provide clear descriptions of food and beverage options
  • Maintain proper and adequate bar setup
  • Stock beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments, and produce
  • Mix, garnish, and present drinks following standard recipes and portion control
  • Attend monthly departmental meetings
  • Input orders into point-of-sale systems and secure accurate payments
  • Receive cash, make change, verify charges, record transactions, and balance cash at shift end
  • Lock up and store all beverages and equipment, deposit cash drops, and secure bank at shift end
  • Sanitize and clean bar area
  • Complete daily inventory prep sheet and other side work as allowed
  • Maintain knowledge of current food and beverage menu offerings and promote drink orders
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and handling policies including product rotation and cleaning
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness of restaurant and surrounding areas
  • Demonstrate knowledge of hotel hours and amenities
  • Work effectively with service and kitchen teams
