Job Requirements

  • San Diego County Food Handlers Card (to be submitted within 30 days of employment)
  • completed anti-harassment and nondiscrimination 1-hour class
  • Responsible Alcohol Service (RBS) certification upon training completion
  • must be able to sit, stand or walk up to 8 hours
  • able to lift at least 50 pounds safely
  • able to bend, stoop, climb, push and pull

  • proficiency in computer skills including Open Table and iPad applications

Job Duties

  • Welcoming customers, reading and listening to determine beverage preferences, making recommendations, and taking drink orders
  • planning drink menus and informing customers about new beverages and specials
  • selecting and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages
  • checking identification to ensure legal drinking age
  • taking inventory and ordering supplies
  • adhering to all food safety and quality regulations
  • handling cash, credit, and debit transactions accurately and balancing the cash register
  • maintaining cleanliness of bar area, utensils, and equipment
  • developing new cocktail recipes
  • greeting guests politely and maintaining knowledge of menu items and product sourcing
  • maintaining organization of bar menus
  • communicating efficiently with management, staff, and guests
  • operating the POS system (Toast) correctly
  • completing opening, running, and closing side-work duties
