The role available is that of a Bartender, reporting directly to the Beverage Manager and the Food & Beverage Director. This position involves providing outstanding beverage service with a combination of efficiency, attentiveness, and knowledge. The bartender serves as a key contributor in creating memorable guest experiences by preparing high-quality drinks that meet established recipe standards. Beyond mixology skills, this role requires a deep familiarity with a wide range of beverages, including wines, specialty drinks, and craft beers, along with excellent interpersonal skills to engage positively with guests and coworkers.
As a Bartender at 21c Museum Hotels, you will follow all steps of service meticulously, ensuring timely and friendly service behind the bar. You will be well-versed in drink names, ingredients, methods of preparation, glassware, and garnishes to deliver perfectly crafted beverages. Your expertise will also extend to knowing the wine list comprehensively, including wines by the glass and multiple varieties across price ranges and styles. Your knowledge will cover specialty spirits such as single malt scotches and cognacs, as well as an assortment of beers.
This position demands not only technical skills but also responsibility in managing inventory and maintaining service areas. You will complete daily inventory reports, keep stock at proper levels, and communicate effectively with servers, managers, and bar backs to ensure smooth operations. Compliance with age regulations and safety standards is paramount. Prompt and accurate financial reporting for income received during shifts is required. The ability to sell beverages responsibly, always considering the customer's well-being, is a critical part of the job.

Job Requirements
- Able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
- Responsible, dependable, punctual
- Strong communication skills, able to speak, read, and understand English
- Clean and professional appearance
- Demonstrates enthusiasm for all things 21c
- Exhibits strong beverage knowledge
- Must pass a background check
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods
- Requires lifting of up to 50 lbs
Job Qualifications
- Prior bartending experience preferred
- Knowledge of mixology and beverage preparation techniques
- Familiarity with wine varieties and cocktail recipes
- Ability to provide excellent customer service
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
Job Duties
- Follow all steps of service
- Provide superior service behind the bar by preparing drinks according to recipe standards
- Know drink names, ingredients, method of preparation, appropriate glassware, and garnishes
- Know all wines by the glass and at least five wines in each category on the wine list in varying price ranges and styles
- Know specialty beverages such as single malt scotches, cognacs, specialty drinks, and beer lists
- Ensure all stock is up to par levels
- Complete daily inventory and inform servers, managers, bar back of any changes
- Verify all guests are at least 21 years of age
- Provide prompt, accurate report of all income received during shift
- Sell beverages responsibly with the customer's best interest in mind
- Maintain smooth flow of service between bar and server requests
- Complete all side work as outlined in the manual
- Report to work on time and ready to work scheduled shifts
- Maintain a positive, friendly attitude with co-workers and guests
- Maintain a clean, orderly appearance in the restaurant service area
- Assist with and execute any tasks assigned by the supervisor
- Follow all proper sanitation guidelines
