The role of Bartender at South Port Square plays a pivotal part in enhancing the community experience by providing exceptional bar service in the Community cocktail lounge. This full-time position, with work hours from 10 AM to 6 PM including weekends, is designed for professionals who are passionate about hospitality and engaging with senior residents. The hourly wage starts from $16.00 per hour, and there is no tip-based compensation. The position also requires background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse to ensure the safety and well-being of residents.

As a Bartender, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that include taking orders, graciously serving drinks and requested items, and providing knowledgeable answers about drink selections. The role demands attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and organizing the bar environment, from clearing tableware to cleaning glassware and ashtrays. Stock management is also an important aspect, involving the stocking, restocking, rotation of supplies, and preparation of garnishes and snack trays. You will support the community's billing accuracy by maintaining documents related to resident and guest charges and assist supervisors with inventory control. Flexibility is key as the role may also involve serving in the Dining Room when needed.

Candidates for this role should possess strong communication skills in English and have bartending experience ideally within hotels, restaurants, or clubs that feature fine dining. The ability to cooperate respectfully and tactfully with residents, guests, families, supervisors, and peers is essential. Applicants must be at least 21 years old to meet legal requirements. Job Duties

  • Takes orders provides service and requested items both graciously and courteously
  • Answers pertinent questions about drink items
  • Clears all tableware from tables and bars after service

  • Prepares garnishes for bar use and prepares snack trays
  • Maintains all documents necessary to accurately account for resident and guest charges
  • Assists supervisor with inventory of supplies
