Job Description

South Port Square is a premier senior living community located on a sprawling 40-acre campus in Port Charlotte, Florida, near the picturesque Charlotte Harbor and the charming city of Punta Gorda. Known as one of Florida's best-kept secrets, South Port Square offers retirees and seniors a vibrant, welcoming environment designed to meet their unique needs. Managed by Life Care Services (LCS), the nation's leading developer and manager of senior living communities, South Port Square has been a trusted name in senior living for over 30 years. Life Care Services manages twelve retirement communities throughout Florida, and South Port Square stands out with its commitment to creating a safe, comfortable, and engaging atmosphere for its residents.

At South Port Square, the team is dedicated to fostering a culture where trust, transparency, and purpose thrive. Employees are encouraged to reach their highest potential while working in a supportive environment that values respect, compassion, and genuine care. Management and co-workers share a common goal of positively impacting the quality of life for residents, making it a fulfilling place to build a career. The company actively seeks hospitality-driven professionals who are enthusiastic about serving seniors and providing exceptional service that enhances the community experience.

The role of Bartender at South Port Square is an integral part of the community’s dining and social environment. This full-time position, offering competitive pay starting at $16.00 per hour with no tips, requires weekend availability and operates from 10 AM to 6 PM. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for the bar service offered in the Community cocktail lounge, ensuring guests and residents receive courteous, efficient, and knowledgeable service at all times.

The position involves more than just mixing and serving drinks; it includes maintaining cleanliness and organization of the bar area, restocking supplies, preparing garnishes and snack trays, and handling billing accurately. Bartenders also assist in inventory control and may provide service in the Dining Room when needed. This role requires a cooperative spirit and the ability to engage effectively with residents, visitors, families, and team members while upholding the highest standards of hospitality.

Candidates who thrive in this role typically possess prior bartending experience, preferably in a hotel, restaurant, or fine dining environment, and are at least 21 years old. Excellent communication skills in English and a courteous, tactful demeanor are essential. Because this position serves a senior community, a background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse is required to ensure resident safety and maintain compliance.

South Port Square offers comprehensive benefits including a 401K plan with employer match, health insurance, dental and vision coverage, life insurance, paid time off, daily pay options, and participation in an Extraordinary Rewards Program. The workplace culture is fun, caring, and inclusive, making it an ideal setting for hospitality professionals passionate about senior engagement and providing top-tier service. If you are enthusiastic and compassionate with a dedication to hospitality and enriching the lives of seniors, South Port Square invites you to join their team and make a difference every day.
