Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years experience in full service bar or equivalent
- Accurate mathematic skills
- Knowledge and experience in alcoholic beverage preparation
- Thorough knowledge of liquors and wines
- Knowledge of menu, specials and wine list
- Understanding of liquor liability laws and accounting procedures
- Ability to meet personal schedule requirements punctually
- Courteous, pleasant and good natured
- Ability to communicate with and understand average guest
- Persona compatible with restaurant image
- Ability to stand or walk for long periods
- Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to handle and account for large sums of money
- Ability to open beer, liquor and wine bottles frequently
- Physically able to move and transport filled glass racks
- Ability to move cases of beer, wine or liquor when bar back is unavailable
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a full-service bar environment
- Strong knowledge of alcoholic beverages including liquors and wines
- Familiarity with liquor liability laws
- Knowledge of restaurant menu and specials
- Understanding of wine and liquor lists and special drink recipes
- Accurate mathematic skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests and co-workers
- Friendly, courteous and service-oriented personality
- Ability to stand or walk for long periods
- Capability to work nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to work independently and responsibly
- Experience with cash handling and accounting procedures
Job Duties
- Prepare and serve beverages to customers seated at the bar, lounge or dining tables
- Serve food to guests seated at the bar
- Arrange and set up beverages, beverage mixes and supplies efficiently and professionally
- Complete all side work when and as assigned
- Prepare ingredients needed for mixed beverage recipes
- Safely use equipment and utensils for beverage preparation
- Prepare beverages according to prescribed recipes including alcohol content
- Use proper measurement methods to ensure exact alcohol pour
- Count and be responsible for cash drawer
- Operate all functions of bar service independently
- Take and fill food orders from bar guests using communication equipment
- Communicate cordially with co-workers
- Engage guests in a friendly and courteous manner
- Accurately record and account for all items served
- Maintain security of bar stock inventory
- Relate to guests with good humor
- Assist host staff with phone answering
- Perform varied duties ensuring all aspects of bar service meet standards
