Job Requirements

Minimum 2 years experience in full service bar or equivalent
Accurate mathematic skills
Knowledge and experience in alcoholic beverage preparation
Thorough knowledge of liquors and wines
Knowledge of menu, specials and wine list
Understanding of liquor liability laws and accounting procedures
Ability to meet personal schedule requirements punctually
Courteous, pleasant and good natured
Ability to communicate with and understand average guest
Persona compatible with restaurant image
Ability to stand or walk for long periods
Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays
Ability to handle and account for large sums of money
Ability to open beer, liquor and wine bottles frequently
Physically able to move and transport filled glass racks
Ability to move cases of beer, wine or liquor when bar back is unavailable

Job Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years experience in a full-service bar environment
Strong knowledge of alcoholic beverages including liquors and wines
Familiarity with liquor liability laws
Knowledge of restaurant menu and specials
Understanding of wine and liquor lists and special drink recipes
Accurate mathematic skills
Ability to communicate effectively with guests and co-workers
Friendly, courteous and service-oriented personality
Ability to stand or walk for long periods
Capability to work nights, weekends and holidays
Ability to work independently and responsibly
Experience with cash handling and accounting procedures

Job Duties

Prepare and serve beverages to customers seated at the bar, lounge or dining tables
Serve food to guests seated at the bar
Arrange and set up beverages, beverage mixes and supplies efficiently and professionally
Complete all side work when and as assigned
Prepare ingredients needed for mixed beverage recipes
Safely use equipment and utensils for beverage preparation
Prepare beverages according to prescribed recipes including alcohol content
Use proper measurement methods to ensure exact alcohol pour
Count and be responsible for cash drawer
Operate all functions of bar service independently
Take and fill food orders from bar guests using communication equipment
Communicate cordially with co-workers
Engage guests in a friendly and courteous manner
Accurately record and account for all items served
Maintain security of bar stock inventory
Relate to guests with good humor
Assist host staff with phone answering
Perform varied duties ensuring all aspects of bar service meet standards
