  • Must be physically able to move glass racks and cases of beer, wine, or liquor when bar back is absent

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a full-service bar or equivalent
  • Knowledge and experience in alcoholic beverage preparation
  • Thorough understanding of liquor types, wines, and their appropriate uses
  • Familiarity with menu, specials, wine and liquor lists, and special drink recipes
  • Understanding of liquor liability laws
  • Knowledge of accounting procedures involving cash handling
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
  • Pleasant and professional demeanor compatible with restaurant image

Job Duties

  • Prepare and serve beverages directly to customers at the bar, lounge, and dining tables
  • Arrange and set up beverages, mixes, and supplies efficiently and professionally according to standard operating procedures
  • Complete all assigned side work on time
  • Prepare mixed beverage ingredients accurately following recipes
  • Safely use equipment and utensils in beverage preparation
  • Ensure correct alcohol pour measurements using proper methods
  • Manage and be responsible for the cash drawer
  • Operate all bar functions independently when necessary
  • Take and fill food orders from guests seated at the bar using the register system
  • Communicate clearly and cordially with co-workers and guests
  • Accurately record and account for all served items
  • Maintain security of bar stock inventory
  • Engage warmly and humorously with guests
  • Perform various duties to uphold bar service standards
  • Assist host staff by answering telephones
