Job Requirements

Must have 2 years of experience in full service bar or equivalent
Must have accurate mathematic skills
Must have knowledge and experience in preparation of alcoholic beverages
Must have thorough knowledge of types of liquors and wine and their distinctions and use
Must know menu and specials
Must know wine list
Must know liquor list and recipes for special drinks
Must understand liquor liability laws
Must understand accounting procedures
Must meet personal schedule requirements punctually
Must be courteous, pleasant and good natured
Must communicate with and understand the average guest
Must provide a persona compatible with established image of restaurant
Must stand or walk for long periods of time while on duty
Must work nights, weekends and holidays
Must accurately work with and account for large sums of money
Must open beer, liquor and wine bottles frequently
When bar back is not available must be physically able to move and transport filled glass rack
When bar back is not available must be physically able to move cases of beer, wine or liquor

Job Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a full-service bar or equivalent
Accurate mathematical skills
Knowledge and experience in alcoholic beverage preparation
Thorough knowledge of types of liquors, wine, and their distinctions and uses
Understanding of menu and specials
Familiarity with wine list and liquor recipes for special drinks
Knowledge of liquor liability laws
Understanding of accounting procedures
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
Pleasant, courteous, and professional demeanor
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Physically able to stand or walk for long periods

Job Duties

Prepare and serve beverages directly to customers seated at the bar and lounge area
Serve food to guests seated at the bar
Arrange and set up beverages, mixes, and supplies efficiently and professionally
Complete all assigned side work
Prepare ingredients for mixed beverage recipes
Use equipment and utensils safely during beverage preparation
Prepare beverages according to prescribed recipes including alcohol content
Use proper methods to ensure exact alcohol pour measures
Count and be responsible for cash drawer
Operate all bar service functions independently if necessary
Take and fill food orders from bar guests using communication equipment
Communicate cordially, clearly, and effectively with co-workers
Interact with guests in a friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner
Accurately record and account for all items served
Maintain security of bar stock inventory
Perform varied duties per standing operating procedures
Assist host staff with answering telephones
