Job Requirements

Must have 2 years of experience in full service bar or equivalent
Must have accurate mathematic skills
Must have knowledge and experience in preparation of alcoholic beverages
Must have thorough knowledge of types of liquors and wine and their distinctions and use
Knowledge of menu and specials
Knowledge of wine list
Knowledge of liquor list and recipes for special drinks
Knowledge of liquor liability laws and knowledge
Knowledge of accounting procedures
Must be willing and able to meet personal schedule requirements punctually
Must be courteous, pleasant and good natured
Must communicate with and understand the average guest
Must provide a persona compatible with established image of restaurant
Must stand or walk for long periods of time while on duty
Must work nights, weekends and holidays
Must accurately work with and account for large sums of money
Must frequently open beer, liquor and wine bottles
When bar back is not available must be physically able to move and transport filled glass rack
When bar back is not available must be physically able to move cases of beer, wine or liquor

Job Qualifications

Minimum two years of experience in full-service bar or equivalent
Knowledgeable in alcoholic beverage preparation
Understanding of liquor types, wine distinctions, and special drink recipes
Familiarity with menu, specials, and wine list
Knowledge of liquor liability laws
Basic accounting skills and cash handling experience
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
Physical capability to stand or walk for long periods
Pleasant and courteous demeanor compatible with restaurant image

Job Duties

Prepare and serve beverages to customers seated at the bar, lounge, or dining tables
Arrange and set up beverages, mixes, and supplies professionally according to operating procedures
Complete all assigned side work efficiently
Prepare ingredients for mixed beverage recipes accurately
Safely operate bar equipment and utensils during beverage preparation
Pour beverages according to exact recipes and alcohol content requirements
Manage and be responsible for cash drawer and transactions
Take and serve food orders from guests seated at the bar using communication and computer register systems
Maintain cordial and effective communication with co-workers and guests
Accurately record and account for all served items and inventory
Secure bar stock inventory and perform all bar service functions independently if necessary
Assist host staff with telephone communications
Perform varied duties to ensure smooth bar operation according to standards
Relate to guests in a friendly and professional manner
