Job Requirements

  • General knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations and etiquette as set by Mr. H. SOPs
  • Speak and write fluently in English. Spanish language skills are a plus for this position
  • Understanding and compliance of house standards, etiquette and what is expected of the role
  • Self-motivated and resourceful, with the proven ability to multi-task and operate successfully under pressure
  • Flexible schedule to include evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must have previous serving experience in a high-volume environment with focus on the luxury segment
  • Must be motivated and have excellent customer service skills
  • Must be able to obtain any required food handing or alcohol serving certifications required by local or state agencies
  • Maintain complete knowledge of table, seat, room capacity, hours of operation, proper table set-up of the restaurant
  • Able to lift and carry up to 35 pounds
  • Able to walk or stand the entire shift
  • Abide by the brand standards pertaining to uniform requirements
  • Maintain good personal hygiene with clean, cut fingernails and clean-shaven appearance
  • Slip resistant black shoes
  • Maintain personal health and sanitation standards such as washing hands after restroom use

  • Previous serving experience in a high-volume environment with focus on luxury segment
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to obtain required food handling or alcohol serving certifications
  • Knowledge of all liquor laws and regulations concerning service of alcoholic beverages
  • Working knowledge of acceptable standards of sanitation and proper chemical usage
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Effective communication skills including writing, reading, listening, and speaking

Job Duties

  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards
  • Remain attentive to guest needs throughout the visit and dining experience by adhering to or exceeding service standards
  • Provide professional, competent, knowledgeable, and prompt service to guests at all times
  • Anticipate guest needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests
  • Guide guests through menu items and structure selection using suggestive selling and upselling techniques
  • Maintain complete food and beverage menu knowledge and stay updated on menu changes
  • Communicate vivid descriptions of items' origin, taste, dietary restrictions, allergies content, and preparation methods
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional at all times
  • Perform opening and closing side work including restocking and cleaning duties
  • Check assigned station and tables for cleanliness prior to opening
  • Obtain proper form of payment and ensure every check has a signature
  • Follow company standards for cash handling and service charge procedures
  • Maintain friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times
  • Handle guest problems, issues, and complaints effectively
  • Support guest satisfaction and focus on continuous improvement
  • Display interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Use strong communication skills including writing, reading, listening, and speaking
  • Maintain high level of accuracy when taking orders
  • Demonstrate effective organizational, stress management, and time management skills
  • Comply with liquor laws, sanitation standards, and POS system usage
  • Ensure confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets
