Job Requirements

  • Legal age to serve alcohol
  • At least one year of bartending experience in a high-end dining establishment
  • Current local or state food handler's certification
  • Current local or state alcohol beverage service certification
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to eight hours with limited breaks
  • Ability to carry up to 30 lbs and exert up to 50 lbs of force
  • Ability to sustain repetitive motions
  • Capability to follow recipes and manage cash handling
  • Basic POS system familiarity
  • Professional demeanor and clean appearance
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays
  • Ability to communicate in English effectively
  • Safe work habits and knowledge of food safety and sanitation
  • Able to wear required uniform
  • Able to listen and follow instructions
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure

Job Qualifications

  • At least one year of bartending experience in a high-end dining establishment
  • Current local or state food handler's training certification
  • Current local or state alcohol beverage service training certification
  • Basic familiarity with POS systems and calculators
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Knowledge of wines, vintages, and pairings
  • Knowledge of beers, spirits, and cocktails
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Good math proficiency
  • Ability to follow instructions carefully and stay calm under pressure
  • Legal age to serve alcohol
  • Ability to multi-task and lead
  • Professional and clean appearance with enthusiasm

Job Duties

  • Meet Lawry's standards consistently as an ambassador of the restaurant, including providing quality, professionalism, and positive guest relations
  • Comply with all employment policies and procedures including accurate time and tip recording, shift communication, and appropriate workplace behavior
  • Ensure the bar is well stocked and set up at the beginning of each shift with garnishes, liquors, and supplies
  • Count and verify bar bank funds at shift start and report discrepancies
  • Complete blind checkout at shift end with management and submit receipts
  • Greet and accommodate guests confidently, following standard operating procedures
  • Prepare drinks using proper techniques, manage cash and credit transactions, collect payments, and secure receipts
  • Transfer bar tabs to dining room when necessary
  • Thank guests upon departure and invite return visits
  • Recognize and professionally manage guests who become intoxicated
  • Maintain company property and assets
  • Follow food handling and sanitation standards
  • Demonstrate safe work habits including knife handling
  • Keep bar area organized, clean, and equipment in working order
  • Stock and arrange glassware and bottles
  • Work efficiently to expedite orders
  • Contribute to food cost goals by controlling portions and waste
  • Follow state liquor laws and company alcohol service policies including ID checks
  • Assist other co-workers and departments as needed
  • Communicate effectively in English with co-workers and guests
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Lawry's history, locations, and menu to assist guests
  • Work as part of a team with co-workers, management, and suppliers
  • Demonstrate competency with POS and TMX systems and math calculations
  • Wear designated uniform and maintain appearance
  • Assume other duties during off-peak hours
  • Attend all mandatory meetings and training
  • Report damaged equipment and unsafe conditions promptly
  • Report accidents immediately
