Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in a hospitality or bar service role preferred
- knowledge of alcoholic beverage laws and regulations
- ability to stand for extended periods
- manual dexterity for garnish preparation and beverage service
- basic computer literacy
- strong communication skills
- ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- willingness to comply with all health and safety standards
- availability to work on a regular basis
Job Qualifications
- hotel experience preferred
- must communicate well with guests
- basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and alcoholic beverage service
- basic mathematical skills for cash register operation and cash handling
- manual dexterity to prepare garnishes and handle glassware and bottles
- ability to remember, recite and promote menu items
- ability to operate keyboard and point of sale systems
- ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods
- ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- effective verbal and written communication skills
- ability to adapt communication style for different audiences
Job Duties
- maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis including requisitioning and stocking of all items based on daily function projections
- responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and perishables to ensure product quality
- greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner and promotes and documents orders for drinks
- mixes, garnishes, and presents drinks using standard recipes and portion control
- abides by all state, federal and corporate requirements for serving alcoholic beverages
- inputs orders into a register and creates checks to maintain accountability
- receives cash from guests, handles change and verifies charges, and records transactions
- locks and stores all beverage, food, and equipment items, deposits cash drops, and secures bank
- complies with attendance rules and maintains regular availability
- performs any other job-related duties as assigned
