Job Requirements
- Minimum age of 19 years old
- high school diploma or equivalent
- valid state driver's license
- willingness to obtain TIPS certification within the first three months of employment
- ability to work extended or odd hours including weekends, holidays, and night events
- capacity to walk or stand for up to 8 hours
- physical ability to walk long distances, assist in moving products, and work in various weather conditions
- capability to lift, push, pull, or move up to 50 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 75 pounds using proper lifting techniques
Job Qualifications
- Valid state driver's license
- high school diploma or equivalent
- experience as a bartender or similar role is helpful but not required
- minimum age of 19 years old
- willingness to obtain TIPS certification within the first three months of employment
Job Duties
- Follow Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium policies and standards
- serve as a positive representative of Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium with a professional and friendly attitude
- handle customer or guest inquiries and provide excellent customer service
- obtain all necessary event information and liquor inventory sheets prior to the event
- obtain and maintain all necessary equipment and supplies for the event
- assist external vendors upon arrival and address their logistical needs
- escort guests and vendors using zoo vehicles
- maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area
- ensure bar arrangements are properly set up and ready before event start time
- follow food handling and beverage procedures according to zoo policies and state laws
- properly set up, tear down, and store equipment and supplies
- operate cash register, collect payment, and make change
- account for drink tickets and submit them after events
- monitor and prevent under-age or over-indulgent drinking and facility damage
- complete all required paperwork
- prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic mixed drinks according to standard recipes or customer requests
- demonstrate detailed knowledge of classic cocktails, modern drinks, and signature specials
- assist with general event setup and teardown tasks like arranging tables, chairs, signage, and tents
- communicate effectively with management regarding comments, ideas, and concerns
