Job Requirements
- Must have two years of experience in full service bar or equivalent
- Must have accurate mathematic skills
- Must have knowledge and experience in preparation of alcoholic beverages
- Must have thorough knowledge of types of liquors and wine and their distinctions and use
- Must be familiar with menu and specials
- Must be familiar with wine list
- Must be familiar with liquor list and recipes for special drinks
- Must know liquor liability laws
- Must know accounting procedures
- Must meet personal schedule requirements punctually
- Must be courteous, pleasant, and good natured
- Must communicate with and understand the average guest
- Must provide a persona compatible with restaurant image
- Must stand or walk for long periods while on duty
- Must work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must accurately work with and account for large sums of money
- Must open beer, liquor and wine bottles frequently
- Must be physically able to move and transport filled glass racks and cases of beer, wine, or liquor when no bar back is available
Job Qualifications
- Two years of experience in full service bar or equivalent
- Knowledge and experience in alcoholic beverage preparation
- Thorough knowledge of types of liquors and wines and their distinctions and uses
- Familiarity with menu, specials, wine list, liquor list, and recipes
- Understanding of liquor liability laws
- Knowledge of accounting procedures
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Physical ability to move and transport filled glass racks and cases of beer, wine, or liquor when necessary
Job Duties
- Prepare and serve beverages directly to customers seated at the bar and lounge area
- Provide food service to guests seated at the bar
- Arrange and set up beverages, mixes, and supplies according to standard operating procedures
- Complete all assigned side work
- Prepare ingredients needed for mixed beverage recipes
- Safely use equipment and utensils in beverage preparation
- Prepare beverages according to prescribed recipes, including alcohol content
- Use proper methods to ensure accurate alcohol pour measures
- Count and be responsible for cash drawer
- Operate all bar functions independently if necessary
- Take and fill food orders from bar guests using communication equipment
- Communicate cordially and effectively with co-workers and guests
- Accurately record and account for all items served
- Maintain security of bar stock inventory
- Relate to guests pleasantly with good humor
- Perform varied duties to ensure bar service standards
- Assist host staff with answering telephones
