Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- minimum of 1-year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- TIPS certification
- ability to communicate clearly in English
- strong mathematical skills including basic arithmetic and percentages
- ability to adhere to safety regulations and liquor laws
- capability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- proficiency with point-of-sale computer systems
- ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas
- ability to monitor alcohol consumption responsibly
- excellent customer service skills
- ability to handle cash and credit transactions accurately
Job Qualifications

- 1-year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- TIPS Certification
- ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
- upper-level moderate English speaking skills
- strong mathematical skills including ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages using units of American money and measurements
Job Duties
- To pour and serve consistent, quality beverages and cocktails to all guests
- To have knowledge of drink recipes and presentation of all drinks offered in the Armory and Cafe and to have thorough knowledge of products available
- Responsible for all cash, credit and room charge transactions and be responsible for the individual bank for your shift
- To have knowledge of current and expired packages and gift certificates, ensuring all checks are opened and closed properly and following correct drop procedures
- To monitor all guest's alcohol consumption and prevent over-serving
- To have the ability, knowledge and confidence to address any situations involving intoxication promptly and effectively
- To politely handle dissatisfied guests by apologizing and seeking assistance from a manager if necessary
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization in the Lounge and Cafe, behind the Bar, and in the back workstation by completing all side work and stocking, as well as daily cleaning duties
- To perform any other related duties as assigned by the Department Manager or General Manager
- To know and obey all Maine State Liquor laws regarding the sale, consumption, and service of alcohol
- To assist in the training of new employees
- To practice safe kitchen procedures when serving food
- To become proficient with the computer system used in the Armory Lounge and Cafe
- Responsible for attending all meetings scheduled by your manager
