Job Duties
- Prepare all drink orders to customer request and recipe specifications
- maintain a thorough knowledge of cocktail recipes as well as all other food and beverage offerings
- verify guest identification in observance of legal age requirements
- obtain guest last name and utilize throughout the entirety of the guests' visit
- assume responsibility for set-up of bar stations, including completing any necessary prep work for service
- assess guest preferences in order to make informed recommendations
- remain guest-focused in order to foster an excellent guest experience
- drive revenue through utilization of suggestive selling techniques
- consistently inquire as to guest allergies and dietary restrictions
- record guest orders and place orders through the Point of Sale system to the kitchen, notifying the Culinary team of any special instructions
- stock and replenish all bar liquors, beers, wines, garnishes, syrups, ice, glassware, and other supplies as needed throughout service
- accurately record all bar transactions through the Point of Sale system
- handle all cash and credit card transactions as well as room charges as specified by The Dewberry's standards, policies, and procedures
- maintain a composed and professional demeanor whilst multi-tasking in order to ensure a seamless 5-Star experience for all guests, regardless of business levels
- ensure guest satisfaction throughout their visit, providing solutions to complaints and escalating issues to management when necessary
- provide guests with a friendly farewell, inviting them to return
- maintain a sanitary bar environment, adhering to DHEC guidelines
- follow local and state laws in addition to The Dewberry's policies and procedures for the safe service of alcoholic beverages to guests
