Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in bartending or related beverage service preferred
  • Must be at least the legal age to serve alcohol
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as cutting garnishes and lifting
  • Basic proficiency with cash handling and point of sale systems
  • Willingness to comply with all state, federal, and corporate regulations concerning alcohol service and safety
  • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality

Job Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of alcoholic beverages
  • Basic mathematical skills for cash register operation, making change, and total calculations
  • Ability to communicate well with guests
  • Ability to use knives for garnishes and handle glassware and bottles
  • Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods
  • Ability to operate point of sale systems
  • Maintain a professional appearance and manner
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and guests

Job Duties

  • Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar daily including requisitioning and stocking of beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws, stirrers, condiments, and produce based on daily function projections
  • Maintains stock, cuts, and stores all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables daily to ensure product quality
  • Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promotes and documents orders for drinks
  • Mixes, garnishes, and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes while practicing prudent portion control
  • Abides by all state, federal, and corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages
  • Inputs orders into the point of sale register and creates checks for each guest to maintain accountability
  • Receives cash, makes change, verifies charges, records charges, ensures vouchers are properly executed for balancing monies
  • Locks up and stores all beverage, food, and equipment items, deposits cash drops, and secures cash bank
  • Complies with attendance rules and is available to work regularly
  • Performs any other job-related duties as assigned
