Job Qualifications
- Must consistently be able to assess, anticipate and meet guests needs and respond quickly without losing focus
- must clearly communicate in a professional manner with guests, vendors, coworkers and management
- must understand instructions, read written company memorandums and communicate when he or she needs more direction or training
- must adapt to different personalities of guests and coworkers without losing focus
- teamwork skills to maintain a team-oriented work environment
- ability to perform physical activities including cleaning, climbing, lifting, walking, balancing and handling of materials
- problem solving skills using good judgement, tact and initiative according to company policy
- general accounting and mathematical skills
- knowledge of point of sale application
- ability to operate various mechanical devices such as POS systems, credit card machines and mixers
- ability to evaluate current practices, recognize potential conflicts and initiate improvements
- effective written and spoken English communication
- flexibility to occasionally work overtime and assist with the workload of others
Job Duties
- Greet and interact with guests in a friendly professional manner when applicable
- assist bartenders with all aspects of guest service
- smile and maintain a positive attitude at all times
- wash and sterilize glassware and other serving equipment at bars
- prepare garnishes for drinks
- maintain bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages
- maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas
- report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to bar manager
- maintain and stock adequate supplies of bar items such as glasses, cups, napkins, drink supplies, condiments, etc.
- stock refrigeration units with wines, beer, replace beer kegs, etc.
- replenish ice at bar
- empty bar trash cans
- attend all scheduled employee meetings
- additional tasks as assigned
