Job Requirements

minimum 21 years of age
us work authorization required
must meet grooming standards
able to work as part of a team
able to work with little or no supervision
minimum 6 months previous bartending experience in a similar setting required
solid knowledge of wines and craft cocktails is required
previous hotel or resort experience preferred
alcohol and food safety certification is a plus, but not required
able to prioritize, organize, and follow-up
strong attention to detail and ability to make concise decisions
able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms
able to demonstrate high energy and strong enthusiasm for customer service
able to work on your feet for extended periods
able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
willingness to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

arrive at the scheduled start time in the appropriate uniform and ready for work
greet all guests with enthusiasm and friendliness
present bar menus, make specific recommendations, and answer questions regarding offerings
receive and serve food and drink orders
prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with Gather & Hem standard drink recipes
record drink orders into the POS system accurately and immediately after receipt
accept guest payment, process credit card charges, and make change as needed
clear and reset tables in the bar area
sweep and mop as needed
maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves, and storage areas
assist in the restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies
complete opening and closing duties as assigned each shift
communicate effectively with guests, co-workers, and supervisors
demonstrate teamwork by cooperating and assisting co-workers as needed
ensure that guests have a positive and memorable experience
report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to the manager
watch for safety hazards and report them immediately to the supervisor or manager
complete all required training within the timeframe allotted
act in accordance with fire, health, and safety regulations and follow the correct procedures as required
perform other duties as directed, developed, or assigned
support environmental commitments by acquiring the knowledge, skills, and values to be a leader in the global goal of greening the hospitality industry
