Job Requirements

  • minimum 21 years of age
  • us work authorization required
  • must meet grooming standards
  • able to work as part of a team
  • able to work with little or no supervision
  • minimum 6 months previous bartending experience in a similar setting required
  • solid knowledge of wines and craft cocktails is required
  • previous hotel or resort experience preferred
  • alcohol and food safety certification is a plus, but not required
  • able to prioritize, organize, and follow-up
  • strong attention to detail and ability to make concise decisions
  • able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms
  • able to demonstrate high energy and strong enthusiasm for customer service
  • able to work on your feet for extended periods
  • able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
  • willingness to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • arrive at the scheduled start time in the appropriate uniform and ready for work
  • greet all guests with enthusiasm and friendliness
  • present bar menus, make specific recommendations, and answer questions regarding offerings
  • receive and serve food and drink orders
  • prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with Gather & Hem standard drink recipes
  • record drink orders into the POS system accurately and immediately after receipt
  • accept guest payment, process credit card charges, and make change as needed
  • clear and reset tables in the bar area
  • sweep and mop as needed
  • maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves, and storage areas
  • assist in the restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies
  • complete opening and closing duties as assigned each shift
  • communicate effectively with guests, co-workers, and supervisors
  • demonstrate teamwork by cooperating and assisting co-workers as needed
  • ensure that guests have a positive and memorable experience
  • report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to the manager
  • watch for safety hazards and report them immediately to the supervisor or manager
  • complete all required training within the timeframe allotted
  • act in accordance with fire, health, and safety regulations and follow the correct procedures as required
  • perform other duties as directed, developed, or assigned
  • support environmental commitments by acquiring the knowledge, skills, and values to be a leader in the global goal of greening the hospitality industry
