Job Requirements

  • 1-2 years' experience in bartending preferred
  • Previous experience with Japanese cuisine, particularly sushi and sake preferred
  • Basic understanding of wine, spirits and sake preferred
  • Must be certified in Responsible Alcohol Service by applicable agency
  • Must be 21 years of age or older based on state law
  • High school diploma or GED preferred

Job Duties

  • Promptly greets guests and takes beverage orders from servers or directly from guests
  • Promptly prepares beverage orders according to server tickets
  • Mixes alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, cocktails, and other beverages as requested and in compliance with company standards and recipes
  • Checks identification of guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol and notifies management of underage or intoxicated guests
  • Rings up all drink and food orders in the POS system, collects payment, balances receipts, and follows cash handling procedures
  • Ensures the bar area is fully equipped with necessary tools and products, promptly reports defective equipment
  • Offers and serves food items to guests seated at the bar when appropriate
  • Demonstrates thorough knowledge of food and beverage products, menus, and promotions
  • Responsible for routine cleaning, setup, and breakdown of the bar
  • Washes and sterilizes glassware, arranges bottles and beverage products attractively
  • Completes daily/weekly cleaning and side work requirements
  • Participates in scheduled catering events as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors
