Job Requirements

1-2 years' experience in bartending preferred
Previous experience with Japanese cuisine, particularly sushi and sake preferred
Basic understanding of wine, spirits and sake preferred
Must be certified in Responsible Alcohol Service by applicable agency
Must be 21 years of age or older based on state law
High school diploma or GED preferred

Job Duties

Promptly greets guests and takes beverage orders from servers or directly from guests
Promptly prepares beverage orders according to server tickets
Mixes alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, cocktails, and other beverages as requested and in compliance with company standards and recipes
Checks identification of guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol and notifies management of underage or intoxicated guests
Rings up all drink and food orders in the POS system, collects payment, balances receipts, and follows cash handling procedures
Ensures the bar area is fully equipped with necessary tools and products, promptly reports defective equipment
Offers and serves food items to guests seated at the bar when appropriate
Demonstrates thorough knowledge of food and beverage products, menus, and promotions
Responsible for routine cleaning, setup, and breakdown of the bar
Washes and sterilizes glassware, arranges bottles and beverage products attractively
Completes daily/weekly cleaning and side work requirements
Participates in scheduled catering events as required
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors
