Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in bartending or hospitality preferred
  • knowledge of state, federal, and corporate liquor regulations
  • capability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • willingness to work flexible shifts including nights and weekends
  • ability to follow safety and security procedures
  • excellent customer service and communication skills
  • ability to maintain a professional appearance at all times

Job Qualifications

  • Hold a current Food Handler Card
  • basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation
  • basic mathematical skills to operate cash register and handle money
  • basic English language writing and communication skills
  • sufficient manual dexterity for using knives, glassware, and beverage equipment
  • knowledge of liquor laws and regulations
  • ability to comprehend and apply product labeling and safety instructions
  • ability to remember and promote menu items
  • ability to operate beverage equipment such as coffee makers

Job Duties

  • Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner
  • promote and document drink orders
  • mix, garnish and present drinks using standard recipes and portion control
  • maintain proper and adequate bar setup daily
  • requisition and stock beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws, stirrers, condiments, and produce
  • maintain stock and prepare fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes daily
  • receive cash from guests, make change, verify charges, and record transactions
  • lock up and store beverages, food and equipment
  • deposit cash drops and secure bank
  • answer bar phone promptly and take room service orders
  • input orders into register and create guest checks
  • perform general cleaning tasks as assigned
  • adhere to company policies and safety procedures
  • report unsafe conditions, accidents, injuries, and property damage
  • maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
  • assist other beverage personnel as needed
  • perform related duties as requested by supervisor or manager
