Job Requirements
- High school degree or GED preferred
- must be at least the minimum age required to serve alcohol according to state law
- ability to complete heavy workloads and multitask in fast-paced environments with minimal supervision
- ability to work in a fast-paced, high energy, and physically demanding environment
- ability to stand, walk, and reach 100 percent of working time
- capable of pushing, pulling, lifting objects including loads greater than 35 pounds occasionally and up to 30 pounds frequently
- effective communication skills primarily in English
- ability to hear normal speaking levels with or without correction
- specific vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment
- ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals
- ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
- must obtain and provide proof of health and alcohol certifications prior to first day of employment
Job Qualifications
- One to three years experience as a bartender or equivalent combination of education and experience
- good written and verbal communication skills
- ability to interact professionally with other departments and outside contacts
- good judgment and decision-making abilities
- ability to free-pour to recipe specifications
- extensive knowledge of mixed cocktails and frozen drinks
- health permit/food safety and alcohol awareness certification prior to employment
Job Duties
- Prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for guests and staff
- verifies all guests purchasing alcohol are at least 21 years of age
- follows all established recipes and beverage preparation procedures
- possesses full knowledge of food and beverage products and utilizes suggestive selling techniques
- takes orders and delivers food and beverages promptly
- operates point-of-sale system efficiently and handles large currency amounts
- practices proper cash handling and checkout procedures
- maintains cleanliness of bar, glassware, utensils, counters, and ashtrays
- cleans up spilled drinks, broken glass, and debris promptly
- tracks spilled or wasted items
- acts as the final quality check on food and beverages before service
- assists with stocking bar items and maintains par levels
- conducts inventory of liquor and bar supplies
- ensures guests receive immediate and personalized service
- handles guest complaints or directs them to management
- completes opening, running, and closing duties
- follows proper ordering procedures to maintain inventory
- ensures alcohol consumption only in designated areas
- assists management in training new staff when applicable
- maintains knowledge of company products and communicates with guests
- notifies management of low inventory and offers recommendations
- adheres to responsible alcohol service policies
- follows safety and sanitation practices and reports accidents
- complies with all company policies and procedures
