Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous experience in hospitality or bar service preferred
Basic math skills necessary for cash handling
Ability to stand for extended periods
Good manual dexterity
Strong communication skills
Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Compliance with all relevant alcohol service laws and company policies

Job Qualifications

Hotel experience preferred
Must communicate well with guests
Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages
Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops and understand portion sizes
Sufficient manual dexterity to use a knife to make garnishes, pick up glassware, bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks and reach overhead to retrieve stock
Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items
Ability to operate keyboard and point of sale procedures to pre-check an order and close out a check
Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers and patrons
Effective verbal and written communication skills with ability to adapt communication style to different audiences

Job Duties

Maintain proper and adequate bar setup daily including requisitioning and stocking beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws, stirrers, condiments and produce based on daily function projections
Maintain stock, cut, and store fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and perishables daily to ensure product quality
Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promote and document orders for drinks
Mix, garnish, and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practice prudent portion control
Abide by all State, Federal and Corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages
Input orders into a register at point of sale and create checks for each guest including those served by other beverage servers
Receive cash from guests, give change, verify validity of charges, record charges and ensure vouchers are properly executed
Lock and store all beverage, food and equipment items, deposit cash drops and secure bank
Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis
Perform any other job-related duties as assigned
