Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- TABC card required
- Food handler certificate required
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a restaurant, bar, or hospitality guest service position
- Must speak, read, write, and understand English clearly and fluently
- Ability to adhere to grooming standards set by Sonesta Hotel
- Physical ability to lift and move approximately 40 pounds including overhead storage
- Capability to push or pull a loaded beverage cart weighing about 200 pounds
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, and reach daily
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged or continuous periods
- Ability to perform repetitive motions and fine motor skills required in bartending
- Ability to communicate clearly with guests and direct them within the hotel
- Ability to properly maintain and operate equipment such as blenders and dishwashing machines
- Ability to interact courteously, empathetically, and discreetly with guests and employees
- Ability to carry out safety and emergency procedures including fire, crowd control, inclement weather, and bomb threats
- Ability to handle cash and credit transactions accurately
- Proficiency in using point of sale equipment
- Ability to read and write effectively
- Basic arithmetic skills including percentages
- Ability to work with cleaning chemicals and prolonged exposure to water
- Must not be infected by diseases transmitted through food supply
- Ability to sustain direct contact with the public and provide high level customer service consistently
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Responsible for proper set-up and presentation of the bar area
- Responsible for accurate requisition of liquor, beer, and wine from the purchasing department
- Maintaining accurate par levels at the bar
- Proper collection and tally of all sales in accordance with checkout procedures
- Following all drink recipes as outlined in the hotel beverage manual
- Maintaining the bar area clean and orderly at all times
- Functioning responsibly in a team-oriented atmosphere
- Providing guest information and ensuring guest satisfaction
- Maintaining excellent work habits that ensure hospitable service
- Checking cleanliness of bar and service area
- Performing other work-related duties as assigned by management
