Job Requirements

  • High school degree or GED preferred
  • Health permit, food safety, and alcohol awareness certification required before employment start
  • Must be able to work in fast-paced, physically demanding environment
  • Ability to stand, walk and reach 100% of working time
  • Ability to push, pull, lift objects to various heights and positions
  • Ability to maintain balance on slippery and irregular surfaces
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and ramps
  • Ability to carry loads over 35 pounds and exert up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Clear communication skills in English
  • Hearing sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction
  • Ability to see and focus closely and at a distance
  • Ability to read and interpret safety, operating, and procedural documents
  • Ability to present information effectively to groups
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division

Job Qualifications

  • One to three years experience as a bartender, preferably in a high-volume environment
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interact professionally with other departments and outside contacts
  • Ability to complete heavy workload and multitask in fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills
  • Ability to free-pour to recipe specifications
  • Extensive knowledge of mixed cocktails and frozen drinks
  • Must be at least the minimum age required to serve alcohol by state law

Job Duties

  • Prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for guests and staff
  • Verifies all guests purchasing alcohol are at least 21 years of age
  • Follows established recipes and procedures in beverage preparation
  • Uses suggestive selling techniques and possesses full knowledge of food and beverage products
  • Takes orders and delivers food and beverages in a timely manner
  • Operates point-of-sale system efficiently and handles large amounts of currency
  • Practices proper cash handling by organizing money, counting change, and following checkout procedures
  • Maintains cleanliness of bar, glassware, utensils, counters, and ashtrays
  • Cleans up spills, broken glass, and debris promptly
  • Tracks items that are spilled or wasted
  • Acts as final check on quality of food and beverages including garnishes
  • Assists with initial stocking and restocking of bar supplies
  • Conducts inventory of liquor and bar supplies
  • Ensures guests receive immediate, friendly, and personalized service
  • Handles complaints or directs them to management
  • Completes opening, running, and closing duties
  • Adheres to ordering procedures to maintain par levels
  • Ensures alcohol consumption is only in designated areas
  • Assists management in training new staff
  • Maintains high knowledge of company products and events
  • Notifies supervisor about inventory and operational concerns
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Adheres to responsible alcohol service policies
  • Utilizes safety and sanitation practices
  • Follows company policies and procedures
